Hooks t-ball

Last weekend I finally got to see one of Griffin's t-ball games! Between being out of town and overlapping baseball schedules, I had to miss the first three games. Griffin is playing for the YMCA and Bill is coaching. We weren't sure how he'd do (rules aren't always his thing), but he really, truly loves it! He's a great batter and he is very eager in the field.

It's hilarious to watch five year olds play baseball. Since we've entered the competitive world of 8U baseball with Rhys, we'd forgotten what preschool t-ball looks like. Some kids spend the innings playing in the dirt, sometimes groups of kids have tickle fights during the game, other kids run to third base instead of first when they hit. Since Griffin has watched Rhys play baseball for so many years (and because he's Griffin), he takes it all very seriously and is very annoyed that they don't call outs in 5U t-ball at the Y. (Although he has been known to dance in the outfield between plays.) This non-competitive atmosphere has been a great way for him to get his feet wet, but I think he'll be ready to play in a more serious league in the fall! I think we have managed to raise two baseball enthusiasts!

It really is adorable and Griffin LOVES it, which is a HUGE surprise to me.
