Crazy Trip '10...The Conception (part 1)

Every morning when I wake up, I stumble out of bed and let the dogs out. Then I collapse on the couch to drink some tea, try to wake up, and check in with the cyber world. On Monday, when I did my morning internet perusal, I saw a link that a friend posted on Facebook about Jet Blue's anniversary sale. Of course, I clicked.

$10 fares! $10 fares?! I was sure that they'd be sold out, but glutton for punishment that I am, I started searching for available tickets. I was shocked to discover that they still had tickets available to and from San Francisco at the discounted rate! The only catch was that the discounts were only available for flights on Tuesday and Wednesday -- as in, we would need to fly out the next day.

Immediately, I called Bill.
"Can you get off work tomorrow to go to San Francisco?" I asked frantically.
"Um...what?"
After quickly filling him in, he declared sadly that he had an important meeting that he couldn't miss, but that we really needed to take advantage of the opportunity and should go without him. (There has never been a sweeter, more generous man.)

So, next I called my friend Courtney. Now Courtney has a fairly significant fear of flying, but I knew that she was just the kind of friend that would be intrigued by this adventure.

"Hello?" Courtney answered, innocently.
"Hey...how's your fear of flying these days?" I asked.

After remarkably little contemplation (considering she hadn't been on a plane in 11 years), she agreed that it was too good an opportunity to pass up and we booked our tickets.
