A change of plans

This weekend was supposed to be Learning without Limits' annual homeschool camping trip. For the second year in a row, we were planning to go to Pedernales Falls State Park, and for the second year in a row, rain ruined our camping plans. Although we were sorry to miss out on camping, we were a bit relieved to spend the weekend in town for a change. Both boys' baseball games were also rained out, so we ended up having a rare couple of days all to ourselves!

On Friday night, we got together with friends to have a to have a mock camping party. We tried to hit all the highlights of the camping experience.

The kids pitched a tent in the living room,

...spent lots of time playing outside,

...spent lots of time with friends,

...had yummy (oven-baked) s'mores,

...played with glow-sticks in the dark,

...and played lots of games.

All in all, a pretty good "camping" trip. All the fun and none of the mess!
