Body Art

After the Cathedral of Junk, we stopped at the Museum of Art for Family Fun Day. We saw an exhibit of local artists that was really great. Rhys, in particular, was very impressed with a couple of different installations on exhibit there. The kids also got to make their own sculptures out of tennis balls, but that didn't go so well. Not surprisingly, a tennis ball isn't the best medium for adhering things. Tennis balls were chosen for the project to show that art can be made out of anything, but the project really missed its mark. Oh, well. It was still fun to get messy and gluey.

Before we left, we bought some body crayons at the gift shop. I cheaped out and bought the $5 instead of the $15 ones, and I sure regretted it. The kids had a blast decorating themselves, but the crayons were really hard to use and faded quickly. Oh, well, I guess I'll have to splurge next time.
